PUBLICATIONS. Deb Ajango has written two books on safety-related topics: Lessons Learned I: A Guide to Accident Prevention and Crisis Response, and Lessons Learned II: Using Case Studies and History to Improve Safety Education. She has written numerous articles and chapters on risk management, emergency action planning, and wilderness medicine.
PRESENTATIONS. Ms. Ajango has presented nationally and internationally on risk management, emergency action planning, and wilderness medicine. She has asked to be keynote speaker for several conferences, including Australia's 2021 National Outdoor Education Conference in Sydney.
EDUCATION. Ms. Ajango received her Master of Science degree in clinical psychology and education from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIPS. Deb is currently a member of the faculty committee for Wilderness Medical Associates International. She has served on the Safety Committees for the Student Conservation Association and Outward Bound. Ms. Ajango served as a member of the Alaska State Parks advisory board for six years. For nine years, Ms. Ajango was a member of the Association for Experiential Education’s (AEE’s) Accreditation Council, during which time she co-edited AEE's Accreditation Manual.
